What is my NOW?
Monday, November 25, 2024
Following in Gabz footsteps and, like him, having never heard of, What’s In My NOW, I had to go check it out and, of course, write up my own, What’s In my NOW post.
Each week one interesting person shares the tangible and invisible things that are influencing the NOW — 3 physical, 2 digital, and 1 invisible.
So, here we go.
Physical Hobinichi Techo — I’ve been using these daily planner / journals for about a decade now because not only are they beautifully made, with exquisite Tomoe River paper, but they’re small enough to carry around in my messenger bag.
iWatch Original — Yes, I know, I’m probably the last person on the planet still using/owning an original iWatch. But damn, I love it for doing one thing and one thing good, keeping track of my health and steps per day. Plus, I love the sky blue strap, which you can no longer get for the latest iterations.
iPhone 14 Pro — I upgraded last year (2023) and I am so sorry I did. While it’s true the camera is so much better than on my previous phone, the 14 pro is a heavy annoying brick, the battery life sucks, and when all is said and done, I really don’t use it as a smart phone, more a mobile camera. And yes, it does fit in my back pocket, which is convenient.
Digital Wordpress Blog — I’m back using this platform, self hosted, for a couple of reasons. The first being comments. The second being control over my data, plus the ability to set posts to public and or private. As a result of going back, I’ve got a lot more followers/readers. A win/win.
Hay Day — my favourite digital game, the only one I have on my iPad air, which I’ve been playing for over 10 years now. Yes, it’s simply that good. I’m not sure there’s a limit to the levels you can attain. I’m in the 180+ region. It’s a simple farm game you can play daily, hourly, or weekly. Literally, the BEST. GAME. EVER!
Invisible What’s intangible thing is influencing my NOW has to be the weather. Of all the things I cannot control, this is probably up there with Trump being elected President. And while I cannot control what happens weather-wise, I can plan accordingly, and do. Especially throughout autumn, getting as prepped as I can for winter, given the amount of snow we might get, never mind the bone chilling cold. So yeah, prepping for armeggedon can wait, while I make sure I have enough clothing for winter, and anything else I might need.
And you, what would be in your NOW?
